BIOGRAPHY
Melinda is a native Mid-Southerner, born in Arkansas and later drawn to the bright lights on the bluff of Memphis, TN. She earned her BA in History and MA in English Literature from the University of Memphis. She’s written songs, poetry, and stories since she was a child, but only recently summoned the courage to share her work with others.

Her thesis “The Restorative Power of Simultaneity in Kurt Vonnegut’s Slaughterhouse-Five” was selected for inclusion in the edited volume titled Family and Tolerance as Trauma Management in Kurt Vonnegut's Works.

In October 2019, she won the Memphis Magazine Very Short Story Contest.

Her short story “The Conversion of Jamison Jefferies was recently published by The Dillydoun Review.
