Hermester Barrington
BIOGRAPHY
Hermester Barrington is a retired archivist, a rogue haiku poet, and a
deliberately genre-ignorant artist who has recently published
ficciones in _Fate Magazine_, _Mythaxis_, and_ Underland Arcana._ For
over four decades he and his impossibly beautiful wife Fayaway have
traveled the round earth’s imagined corners in search of hitherto
unrecognized protozoa, falling leaves, and the lost far magic places.
His next project is tentatively titled _Behold, Fellow Gentleman
Dabblers! or, There Once Was a Merchant from Delft_, his translation,
into limericks, of Antonie van Leeuwenhoek's letters to The Royal
Society of London for Improving Natural Knowledge.

Stories
The Mallow Dryad, or, Memoir of a Fragile Paradise
Taking in my garden, the wild space surrounding it, full of Spanish grasses and the song of a meadowlark echoing over it, I realized, not for the first time, that I had been very fortunate in the place I lived as a child, some forty years before.
