Simon Collings lives on Osney Island in Oxford, UK. He has worked in international development for most of his career and writes music reviews and stories in his spare time.

Since appearing on East of the Web ‘Do you speak English?’ has been republished in Hey! Portugal (autumn 2010) and All About English: Secondary 2 Textbook–Express (Pearson Longman, Singapore, Nov 2010) and in resource materials for English published by Brisbane School of Distance Education, Queensland Australia (2012.) An extract was used as part of a language project for Polish students (eduNawigacja, published by Wydawnictwa Szkolne i Pedagogiczne, 2011.)

An early story, Death, appeared in the Canadian literary magazine Descant (fall 1982). Music reviews are published in the Oxford Times.
