The Boy Who Cried Wolf

A shepherd-boy, who watched a flock of sheep near a village, brought out the villagers three or four times by crying out, "Wolf! Wolf!" and when his neighbors came to help him, laughed at them for their pains.

The Wolf, however, did truly come at last. The Shepherd-boy, now really alarmed, shouted in an agony of terror: "Pray, do come and help me; the Wolf is killing the sheep"; but no one paid any heed to his cries, nor rendered any assistance. The Wolf, having no cause of fear, at his leisure lacerated or destroyed the whole flock.

There is no believing a liar, even when he speaks the truth.

I hear before this Fable in my childhood, this is a old and famous short Storie even in my country and Culture, a little country of Central America the main idea or the Moral of the Fable is about be honest all the time, and say always the true, because say lies always has a badly end and never leave nothing good, and the true always "Won".

I heard this story when I was a child. And I did learn something form this story. In our society, everyone should be honest to each other. No one would help a person who like to cheat. Once you had have done wrong thing, you would leave a stain on youself. Its hard to take it away. Because everyone had marked on you that you were a bad person. Thats why the criminal tried very hard to start his new life. There is no believeing a liar, even when he speaks the truth. Although the criminal had amended, very few people would accept them.

If you used to tell a lie then no one will believe you anymore. It is important for everynoe to be honest all the time.

I think this fable is interesting.People have to learn that telling the truth is better than lying, because if you always lie nobody will believe you when you need them to. Then a little lie is sometimes necessary.

Actually I knew it before, during my childhood since my Grandmother used to gather all her grandchild and told them some fables , and I consider this fable as one of the most enjoyable fables. From this fable I learned not to lie even if Im in huge trouble, because if I lie once, no body will trust or believe me again. And Im sure that telling kids such fables, is the best way to teach them some of the basic rules in our life, so telling kids fables is my advice for all parents. FARAH LAFI

Althugh it is a short story, but you can get a lot of messages from the fable. Nowadays, many people were doing the same thing with the sheherd boy. People were telling lies. For me, I have heard this fable when I was a little boy. It was a meaningful story that I never forget it.

I think I have a story as same as The Boy Who Cried Wolf in Japan. I learn that if I always tell a lie, nobody believe me anymore. Even if I really get a sick, nobody help me. I think if you want to get attention, you have to think another way. The life is not so easy. Always be honest!

I know this story since when i was child. I heard this story because my mom always told me to tell the truth, and she would tell me it. I kind of like it because its short, simple and to the point. Everyone should tell the truth because when you trick others and finally realize it, you no longer have any friends.

i think that, if a boy was being attacked by a wolf, he would sceam and shout and then the villagers would see that he was deaded by a wolf and then they would feel really really really really really really really really really really really bad and then comit suicide
