The Boy Who Cried Wolf

A shepherd-boy, who watched a flock of sheep near a village, brought out the villagers three or four times by crying out, "Wolf! Wolf!" and when his neighbors came to help him, laughed at them for their pains.

The Wolf, however, did truly come at last. The Shepherd-boy, now really alarmed, shouted in an agony of terror: "Pray, do come and help me; the Wolf is killing the sheep"; but no one paid any heed to his cries, nor rendered any assistance. The Wolf, having no cause of fear, at his leisure lacerated or destroyed the whole flock.

There is no believing a liar, even when he speaks the truth.

This story is important to me because i’ve learn not to lie. Saying lies always take you to a bad ending. Nothing is more important than been honest. The title is fabolous because in that kind of moment you really need help and because you lie before you wont get any help. It’s a little bit sad the way the sheeps die because of a lie of one person.

As a result, my father was very angry with me, and he didn’t believe me anymore. I felt very sorry for my father. After that, I want to promise my father I don’t tell lie again. If I tell lie again, I will be in trouble.

I realy liked this story. It shows a lot about life. I learned from this fable that one must not lie ever. If one lies, then he becomes a liar in peoples eyes and when finally he tells the truth, nobody will believe him. When this happens, it could be a very important situation.

This story is very interesting for young boys. It is easy to understand, the moral is clear. Kids like this king of stories. We learn that a liar is and will remain a liar, the day he will say to the truth anybody will believe him. This fable is not only for the children it is also for adults. I think that some of us know that it is not well to lie, but they use to forget. I know this kind of fable in French. It’s the story of the shepherd boy who cried fire. In stead of wolf it’s the fire. The moral is the same.

I heard this story for the first time when i was a child. It is a very interesting story when narated to children with an intention of teaching good moral behavior in order to fit in the society.Amazingly, the act of the boy while pretending to have seen a wolf offended his neighbors & couldnt help him even when the wolf came. Thus, the story educates people to always tell the truth in all circumstances otherwise if not nobody will come to our rescue.

I think that many of my classmates heard about this fable in their childhood, so do I. Also this story is telling us that we have to be honest to each other. And this story teaches us how we have to be. Nobody will believe the person who lie and cheat. And when that person is in real trouble nobody want to help him because they mean that he is lying again. So, if you tell lie once nobody will believe you anymore. While I was a kid this story help me a lot to realize what is liar. D. K. Serbian

“The boy who cried wolf” has quality, not quantity. This is a good way to explain why people ought to say the truth. In addition, children should read this fable and learn the moral. Although this story is old, we can use nowadays. We’d better care everything that say. In addition, we could learn people are friendly until we disappoint them. When I was child, I read this fable. Since then, I could use it all my life. I feel, this fable is very important around the world because I have seen it in different languages.
