The Boy Who Cried Wolf

A shepherd-boy, who watched a flock of sheep near a village, brought out the villagers three or four times by crying out, "Wolf! Wolf!" and when his neighbors came to help him, laughed at them for their pains.

The Wolf, however, did truly come at last. The Shepherd-boy, now really alarmed, shouted in an agony of terror: "Pray, do come and help me; the Wolf is killing the sheep"; but no one paid any heed to his cries, nor rendered any assistance. The Wolf, having no cause of fear, at his leisure lacerated or destroyed the whole flock.

There is no believing a liar, even when he speaks the truth.

I red this fable when I was young through a picturebook, and I remember, a boy laugh at his neighbor. However, He was running across the field to avoid a wolf , and he was crying in the next picture.
I thought, he was a unlucky boy. If the wolf appeared several days after,
probably his neighbor helped him.
Dont speak lies is a main moral of this fable, but I think, timing is important too.^^

The title of the story is perfect for this fable. The time of this story teaches us that the moral comes from long ago. We need to practice in our lives now saying the truth and never lying. This is the only way that people will trust in you.

in my opinion this fable "The Boy Who Cried Wolf" has a very important message, because is truth that many people are liars and that is a big error, so I think that is important to mark that people need to understand that is more important be honest and all times tell the Truht.

Even though this story is about a boy that lie many times about a wolf that is eating the villages sheeps, and when the time that the real wolf make it, nobody believe him, isnt a true story, I believe that its a good way to educate the childrens, so they learn not to lie and say the truth; I also remember that I loved this story when I was 4 years old

The story teach about honesty. We have to be persons that everybody will trust. If we are keeping saying the trust, even, that is not that the others want to hear, we can have always their support. Mabe our live depends on that. You had to a lie, because that is not a good example for the children. We have to practice this for good.

This is a story we all know as children, when our parents would tell us not to lie.But it is a legend today because it has a very good moral. We all know we can get caught up in a web of lies. And when we try to get out by telling the truth nobody believes you.So I say stick to the moral of the story and dont lie.

This story not only encompasses a great moral, it also provides us with an interesting plot despite its length. Aesop clearly shows that one should always speak the truth. With characters like a wolf and young boy I was able to stay entertained because these characters aren’t usually put together. This fable has been presented in other versions however none of them have been able to have an impact on me quite like this one. I think that I’ve made a conscious effort to tell the truth a lot more after reading this because I don’t want to end up being ignored like the boy.

I believe that Aesop did a great job when writing this fable. The Boy Who Cried Wolf is one of my favorite fables. This is a good lesson that every person should take into consideration. This moral is very important in your everyday life. The Boy Who Cried Wolf is a great fable for anybody who has had trouble with lies.

I think that if the Shepherd-boy would of never played games in the first place then his neighbors would of believed him.And also if you lie once or twice then youll lie again and eventually nobody will believe you. But i did enjoy the fable i remember reading this story alot when i was younger.

The Boy Who Cried Wolf teaches a very valuable leason.Which teaches that you "shouldnt believe a liar, even when he speaks the truth." That is saying that you shouldnt lie the first time because it might come back to get you in the end and people wont believe you the second time when its actually happening to you.So as a student this has helped me for in the future. But overall this story can help many people who have done the same as the shepherd boy in the end.

I think it is a good fable. Not to long and not to short. It has a good morlal.I think it would be a good thing to avertis. I think some of the kids that read it would learn not to lie. Like in the fable it said that if you lie one time the next time it might be real and nobody will come and help you if it is real.

I remember the moment I read this fable at first. Maybe I was 7years old.
I was shocked to read this and I could know that a lie is very bad.
Now, I am 21 years old. Im still trying not to tell a lie. Althogh It is very small. Yes. There is no believing a liar, even when he speaks the truth. Because It is by no means easy to regain confidence once lost.

I have heard this story before in my childhood. In my culture grandparents used the fables with moral to teach their children. This was one of the stories we were told. The moral was to teach us to be honest and not to lie. Telling lies can harm us in the end. I like this story and I still tell it to children. Sr. Cristina

The more he tells a lie, the more people don`t trust him. From this story, I learned that being honest is really important. I give 5 stars to this story.

This story was so pleasant for me to read. It really appealed to me because, it could help me to track back in my memory. When I was a little, my mom usaually read this story in my bed then, listening the story, I could fall asleep easily. With the story, my mom let me keep in mind the moral of the story; Honesty is the best policy.
