The Boy Who Cried Wolf

A shepherd-boy, who watched a flock of sheep near a village, brought out the villagers three or four times by crying out, "Wolf! Wolf!" and when his neighbors came to help him, laughed at them for their pains.

The Wolf, however, did truly come at last. The Shepherd-boy, now really alarmed, shouted in an agony of terror: "Pray, do come and help me; the Wolf is killing the sheep"; but no one paid any heed to his cries, nor rendered any assistance. The Wolf, having no cause of fear, at his leisure lacerated or destroyed the whole flock.

There is no believing a liar, even when he speaks the truth.

I hear before this Fable in my childhood, this is a old and famous short Storie even in my country and Culture, a little country of Central America the main idea or the Moral of the Fable is about be honest all the time, and say always the true, because say lies always has a badly end and never leave nothing good, and the true always "Won".

I read this story in a book when I was a child. It was translated into my language with some pictures. Even though its a really short story, I think its very educational. If we look about us, we may find these shepherd-boys. This is not only about a big job, but also a small thing of daily life. If somebody breaks trivial appointments every time, people wont believe him when he wants to do something important.

I read this story when i was in Korea.
But in my country, we use different animals. I think its very educational because the moral of this story is good for children to learn why lie is not good.

I think is a very good fable because it tells about the truht. The story tells about a shepherd boy, but its really means any boy in the whole world, anytime and any place.Besides, the story is short and punchy, and that makes easier children to read.TRhis is a good way to teach the children to be honest. All parents should use those storys to instill moral values in their childs.

I learned something in this story, that sheep dont taste that bad.I learn that lie is not good, never I will lie again. If you always lie, nobody going to believe you when you said the truth. Also not always when you said a lie everything goes fine.It show us how important is to said the truth, no matter what.

i like the story than it give a lot of similar miss
understands. sometimes you just cry for joking and
another time you cry for help and some people think it
is just a joke and dont realize that it is real.

One thing that I learned is always say the truth no
matter what. If you lie a lot, when you speak the truth
no one its going to believe you. Sometimes a lie can
save you forever. We all lie in certain moment but
most of us later feel like we make a bad thing. We all
need to learn to speak the truth even though its hard.
I think that the story has a little bit of humor and a
great order but what I think that should be change its
the last sentence which goes; "There is no believing a
lian even when he speak the truth". I think it should be
changed because everybody deserves a new
opportiunity.

I learned from this story about "To tell a lie is not good for evrybody.".
