The Flying Machine

An Ingenious Man who had built a flying-machine invited a great concourse of people to see it go up. At the appointed moment, everything being ready, he boarded the car and turned on the power. The machine immediately broke through the massive substructure upon which it was builded, and sank out of sight into the earth, the aeronaut springing out barely in time to save himself.

"Well," said he, "I have done enough to demonstrate the correctness of my details. The defects," he added, with a look at the ruined brick-work, "are merely basic and fundamental."

Upon this assurance the people came forward with subscriptions to build a second machine.

The man passed over basic and

fundamental but people are giving him

2nd chance.

I think this story shows two lessons.

One is that we shouldnt pass over

basic and fundamental, the other is

that everyone needs 2nd chance.

The Flying Machine is a very nice story of Ambrose Briece, its setted in a normal city in the 50s. I like very much the moral because its totally true because the defects are fundamental and merely basic.I think the deffects are needed to make a thing good, when you achieve something is because you make a big effort, surely there were mistakes that made you try it again and again and finally you became a master. :)

It is a good story. You can learn about it. You know we are humans so it is normal to make a mistakes. The best of this is that the life always give us a second chance. The moral is that you dont give up. If you felt down...please stand up and try again. Dont worry about what people think about your mistakes. Feel you free.

This is a good story to show that how much to care a little primary thing before to do something complicated. The ingenious man is a realristic, and he also never give up. Thats a good point that you can get from this story. Lets think, if all of people in the world are easy to give up, we cant develop everything same as now for sure. However, I am amazing that this short story can give something more than in the context. Sometimes, the short stories can give the moral much more than some long stories.

I think its great that so many people think the lesson here is to try and try again until you succeed; to not be defeated by failures and mistakes. It reveals your inner hope and optimism and makes me think about the cynicism that runs rampant in America--a country who views hope and optimism as naivety, these days.

But be wary of another message this story may present: dont believe the hype. Just because someone says so, doesnt mean it is. THINK rationally and independantly and then make an informed choice. Dont be like the crowd in the story who hear a man say something, they dont think about the meaning of what hes saying, and then they just dig in their pockets to give him more money without thinking twice.

Or perhaps the moral is: choose your words wisely, for some fool will always misinterpret, and if you speak carefully and thoughtfully you can get whatever you want from people.

It is a nice fable. You can learn about it. We are humans so it is normal to make mistakes. The best of this is that the life always give us a second chance. And in addition, we must keep trying to reach our aim. The moral is that you dont give up. If you felt down...please stand up and try again. Dont worry about what people think about your wrongness…

I like this story, because I think there are two messages from it.
First, everyone make mistakes. Even if you are ingenious, you would make mistakes.
Second, mistakes make a success. When you make mistakes, you dont have to worry about it. Its a key to suceed. Be optimistic.
I think they are very important things to succeed in life.

I think if a Man want to invent a great thing , need to gather the subscription from others. And onself has to gather enough money and preparation object. So you are not afraid of mistake. It link to a big succese!
